Our procedures are very simple, and are designed to provide clients with the best possible service and the finest possible results, with the least possible uncertainty.
Begin by contacting our Publishing Enquiries e-mail address or by calling our editorial department. You can either discuss your project in outline or proceed to send us written material for assessment. Please check our Submission Standards page. Initially, materials can be either the full typescript or a synopsis and a couple of sample chapters, but please note that we cannot provide a full assessment based on samples alone.
Having read, assessed and considered your project, we will contact you with our comments, suggestions and advice, and talk everything through with you until all details are satisfactorily settled.

Unless New Amsterdam Press specifically purchases the copyright in a work, that copyright will at all times and without question remain at the disposal of the author or owner of the work, or with their assignees. In self-publishing, this is invariably the case.
Timescale and Scheduling
We will discuss with you your requirements regarding publication date and will do our best to comply with them. However, while we are always ready to help, we are not prepared to cut corners or compromise on quality in order to achieve very short timescales, and so we do recommend starting early and setting sensible targets that allow for proper work and possible contingencies. Depending on workload we may be able to produce a quality product in a matter of 2 weeks, but it may take longer as we have indicated due to quality reasons.
